We like to think of gouache as an opaque watercolor. It is a water-based paint and has many of the same properties as watercolor, but can be completely opaque and bold without having to layer as you might with watercolor. Once dry, gouache pigment can also be lifted by adding water.
Yes. However, repeatedly washing your palettes can warp or crack the palettes over time. We also like to layer new paints over old ones as they dry—they become art in themselves!
It is always best to store your brushes with the bristles facing up. This allows the bristles to keep their shape over time. Do not keep the bristles facing down for an extended amount of time. Once you are finished painting with your brushes, rinse them with cold water to clean. Hot water can loosen the bristle adhesives over time and cause them to fall out.

The metallic watercolors give a beautiful sheer, iridescent layer in multiple colors, whereas the liquid metals are opaque metallic paints. However, if you mix a tiny bit of liquid metal paint with water it can become sheer as well.
